Strange Light

2017

3-channel looping video installation + stereo audio

Hand-held flashlights are tools for sight and lucidity in otherwise unlit spaces. Strange Light is a continuous video installation that explores the contemplative yet uncertain act of searching and fragmented seeing.

A single small light passes over objects and surfaces across objects and architectures, both in and outdoors, glimpsing only a few ambiguous details at a time of a larger unseen space, the perceived setting shifting constantly. The light invites viewers to enter the dark and join the search, piecing together the impossible.
